I feel great when I entered union hall building seminar hall as it is filled with lots of great people who are doing research. The seminar was about how to do literature survey. I have some ideas about the topic as I did literature survey for my bachelor’s project. The presenter wanted all the research people to introduce themselves by giving details like their name, faculty and their research area. Everybody started to say proudly about their research area and their name. I felt little nervous when I got my turn. I told them my name and my course. Then I told them that I am passionate to do research and will proudly announce my research topic during the next year seminar. Some laughed at me and some couldn’t believe me. The presenter gave a open feedback on after I stopped. He said, “All the best for your research”.
I learnt a lot about how to do literature survey and how it should be done a proper way. The best part of that seminar is when the presenter showed us some questions that must be answered by the literature survey. I noted down all the questions and started thinking on applying those in my research interest.
When I seminar was over, the presenter called me personally and gave me some personal tips on how to go with my research interest. I felt that I achieved my goal when he gave me tips. Because those tips were” gems” and they are the exact ways which will ultimately lead me towards research. I thanked him and I promised him that he should be the first to be informed when I get research.
He gently replied me that I will get research. I couldn’t resist my tears and I was over the moon. His advice motivated me and added fuel to my burning goal.
After that I attended seminars about research methodology, referencing and publishing the research. Most of the seminar insisted on having research comrades. If you got friends who are also going research like you, you will gain momentum. They will assist you in better way. I appreciated that idea. I introduced myself to lots of people in that seminar. I got their contact details and started interacting with them in constant time. They motivated me and some taught me how to use some software related to research.
I thanked them and kept my goal of being researcher in the area of signal processing in a healthy state.
I must thank LUPA co-ordinator, all my research friends who helped me and assisted me in the right direction to achieve my goal.
